Day one entailed a pick up in Dublin and a journey through the Mourne mountains to Belfast. Once there they enjoyed one of our Belfast tours. Then 2 nights in the Europa Hotel.

Day two was a tour of the Ards Peninsula visiting Mount Stewart , Greyabbey , and Castleward. They finished the day with a visit to Saint Patricks grave before returning to their hotel. They had dinner at the Crown Liquor Saloon.

Day three entails a tour of the North Coast visiting the Giants Causeway and Dunluce Castle before staying in the Bushmills Inn.

The next two days are spent in Donegal touring the likes of the Inishowen peninsula.

Finally there are two days in Fermanagh visiting Devenish Island , the Marble Arch Caves , and Enniskillen Castle.

If you are in Belfast on a cruise ship take a trip to the Mountains of Mourne.

They are a brooding range located in County Down on the east coast of Ireland.

They sit between the towns of Newcastle and Newry.

On the sides of the Mournes is Tollymore Forest Park which is a beautiful estate with woodland walks , waterfalls , and great examples of local birds and wildlife. It well worth a visit.

The event was attended by world media representatives and promoted Ireland as a golf destination. It also highlighted Northern Ireland and what it has to offer.

It was attended by golf tour operators , and local businesses were able to showcase what they could offer the golfers and encourage the tour operators to visit.

Celebrity guests included “Martin ONeill” , “Pat Jennings” , the wonderful “Jack Kyle” , and “Dame Mary Peters , among others. They are all fantastic ambassadors for Northern Ireland and deserve credit for their efforts.

The Slieve Donard Hotel was a wonderful location and made everyone very welcome. The views to the Mountains of Mourne were at their best as well.

The golf at Royal County Down and Ardglass was competitive and fun. In some cases great fun !!

And the awards dinner was well attended and went on into the wee small hours.

As a member of the IGTOA Ireland Luxury Tours were encouraged by the growing interest in the Northern Ireland golf market.

Hopefully we can work closely with the likes of “Haversham and Baker Golfing Expeditions” in Cincinnati to bring golfers to Northern Ireland.

The opportunity to play Royal County Down and Royal Portrush is the lure….but the chance to showcase our , less well known , but excelllent local courses is also very important.
